These crackers are the perfect way to use up your sourdough discard. They are super quick and easy to bake and will make a great snack during the week. With a bit of of a kick and lots of herbs, these crackers pair well with a nice raw cheddar, some grapes and a glass of wine. Let's get baking!

Yield: Varies depending on how much discard starter you are using

Prep: 5 min.

Bake: 30-45 min.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup discard sourdough starter (or as much as you have on hand)

  • 2 tbsp grass fed butter, melted

  • 1 tsp rosemary

  • 1 tsp garlic

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper

  • Sesame seeds for topping

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Combine the sourdough starter and butter, mix well. Then add the spices and salt, mix to combine.

  3. Spread the mixture onto the parchment paper with a spatula, spread nice and thin. Sprinkle the tops with sesame seeds.

  4. Bake for 15 min. then remove from the oven and score. (I like to use a pizza dough cutter). Then place back into the oven and bake for an additional 15-30 min. The bake varies depending on how thin you spread the crackers. Check after 15 min., if they are browned around the edges they are done. Enjoy!
